It is the only specialised TB hospital in Gauteng for treating drug-resistant TB cases.     ![Driving sustainable development with our SED initiatives: Sizwe Hospital School](https://blog.avisfleet.co.za/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/services-Aug-24-2021-08-38-28-81-PM.jpg)   ## Sizwe Hospital School It was first built in 1895, as Rietfontein Lazaretto, it stood alone in a remote location. It was a full-day's cart-ride from the centre of the town, established that far away as a safety measure against the smallpox epidemic that was sweeping Johannesburg at that time.   Avis Fleet’s Customer Care department chose to focus on [Sizwe Hospital School](https://www.our-schools.social/schools?a=Sizwe%20Hospital%20School&e=700261156&i=5e1a0a162ef9dc0020b112ea) for their SED initiative. They hoped that by doing so they could help the school and support sustainable development initiatives in the area.   ### Why Avis Fleet feels SED initiatives are important Levi Saville is currently working as a Customer Liaison Manager for Phakisaworld fleet solutions. Levi was chosen to be the SED champion for the Customer Care department.   He feels the SED initiative is great and is a very important project with a wonderful purpose to fulfil. The overarching purpose that this initiative fulfils is to serve others or to help.   Levi says: “As human beings we have an innate calling to help one another and I believe that two of our jobs as SED champions is to awaken that calling within our colleagues and to streamline our efforts in this regard to achieve a unified goal to help one specific group.”   ### Avis and Sizwe Hospital School  Staff from Avis Fleet were very happy to be able to donate food and various items including office equipment to the institution. Levi says that they also spent time with the kids which was also greatly appreciated.   Levi says it was a deeply fulfilling experience and he looks forward to making more positive differences in many more people’s lives.   Contact us directly to find out how you can help or donate to the Sizwe Hospital School.   [![Contact Us](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/483927/3ad1f786-00a8-4538-9d16-88b1cb681d9e.png)](https://cta-redirect.hubspot.com/cta/redirect/483927/3ad1f786-00a8-4538-9d16-88b1cb681d9e) [Back](https://blog.avisfleet.co.za/latest-news/) -   -   -   [Back](https://blog.avisfleet.co.za/latest-news/) | [All posts](https://blog.avisfleet.co.za/latest-news/) ##### You might also like ![A fuel-saving guide for fleet drivers and managers](https://blog.avisfleet.co.za/hubfs/Avis%20Blog%204.png) [A fuel-saving guide for fleet drivers and managers](https://blog.avisfleet.co.za/latest-news/a-fuel-saving-guide-for-fleet-drivers-and-managers) August 24, 2020 ![How Avis optimised our fleet](https://blog.avisfleet.co.za/hubfs/nelson-gono-h-kD4142VIQ-unsplash.jpg) [How Avis optimised our fleet](https://blog.avisfleet.co.za/latest-news/how-avis-optimised-our-fleet) August 24, 2020 ![Why data accuracy is your most important fleet asset](https://blog.avisfleet.co.za/hubfs/Avis_April_Content-16.jpg) [Why data accuracy is your most important fleet asset](https://blog.avisfleet.co.za/latest-news/why-data-accuracy-is-your-most-important-fleet-asset) August 24, 2020 [![twitter icon (1)](https://blog.avisfleet.co.za/hubfs/twitter%20icon%20(1).svg)](https://twitter.com/avis_fleet) [![linkedin icon (1)](https://blog.avisfleet.co.za/hubfs/linkedin%20icon%20(1).svg)](https://www.linkedin.com/company/avis-fleet/?originalSubdomain=za) - Assist Numbers - [Driver Emergency 0800 540 740](tel:0800540740) - [Road Side Assistance 0800 117 686](tel:0800117686) - [Want to buy a car? 011 973 7300](tel:0119737300) - [Intelligent Fuel Bureau 031 466 2583](tel:0314662583) - [Accident Management 0800 033 002](tel:0800033002) - [Find out more 011 552 9000](tel:0115529000) - [About us](https://www.avisfleet.co.za/about-us) - [Careers](https://www.linkedin.com/company/zeda-southern-africa/jobs/) - [Solutions](https://www.avisfleet.co.za/solutions) - [Blog](https://blog.avisfleet.co.za/latest-news) - [Contact us](https://www.avisfleet.co.za/contact-us) - [Countries](https://www.avisfleet.co.za/countries/zambia) - [Service history](https://service-history.avisfleet.co.za/) Copyright 2026. [Avis Fleet Solutions](https://www.avisfleet.co.za/).
